{"id":2,"date":"2010-05-08T11:17:17","date_gmt":"2010-05-08T11:17:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/therobingenome.com\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2010-05-08T13:51:47","modified_gmt":"2010-05-08T13:51:47","slug":"about","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/genome.bhattacharya.ch\/?page_id=2","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Robin Bhattacharya Genome Project \/ SELF PORTRAIT\u00a0is a multi-disciplinary project combining sociology of bioscience with identity expression through art.<\/p>\n<p>Its aim is to examine population categorisations and classifications currently applied in bioscience, with a focus on \u2018mixed-race\u2019, \u2019other\u2019 or similar designations inferring a post-colonial, multicultural identity.<br \/>\nTo that end the genome of the artist \u2013 Robin Bhattacharya \u2013 is to be sequenced and mapped using different marker categorisations. Their applicability can then be evaluated against the specific sample, which is multi-national\/ethnic and has a well-documented genealogy.<\/p>\n<p>The different types of classifying are to be made \u2018visible\u2019 using information visualisation.
